With the aim of setting standards in all respects of sound, the precious tonewoods that we use are matured for many years at the company's wood store before they are moved to the fully air-conditioned HANIKA workshops to be finally made into instruments. Both sound capacity and wood structure are determined and fostered by hand to in this way harmoniously combine an extraordinary visual experience with an exclusive sound.

Our varying high-quality varnishes enhance the sound of your guitar, emphasise the beauty of the woods and protect the surface from dirt and moisture.

SHELLAC

HIGH-GLOSS FINISH

The high art of finishing – around 15 layers are applied by hand to achieve the perfect finish. Shellac gives a unique colour to bright woods and possesses an inimitable charm. The final layer is only approximately 30 µm thick (micrometres). The acoustically best surface sealing.

UV-CURING ACRYLIC VARNISH

HIGH-GLOSS FINISH

Up to six coats are elaborately applied, sanded and polished. The result is a very high-quality smooth finish that particularly convinces with its hardness and spatiality.

PUR* VARNISH

HE MATT FINISH

Convinces with its good technical properties, for example, wear resistance, hardness and permanent elasticity. This varnishing process produces an even finish and a natural look.

OPEN-PORED MATT FINISH

Only two basecoat layers are applied before application of the matt topcoat. The wood is sealed in this way with a matt and open-pore finish that produces only a slight damping effect.

VARNISH AND WAX

NATURAL FINISH

Only one layer of basecoat is applied. The following application of the thin layer of wax results in highly rapid responsiveness and a crisp sound.

Our STRINGS convince with their particular sound whereby the combination of materials is responsible for delivering the tone's special structure.

CLASSICAL GUITARS

Since March 2024 we have been using D'Addario strings for most of our instruments. The exact name of the set is "D'Addario XTC46FF".

The precise response, long-lasting sustain, easy playability and a warm and rich overtone spectrum make these strings the first choice on our models. The combination of D'Addario carbon treble strings and the silver-plated, spun Dynocore bass strings impresses with a special coating for very long durability.

FLAMENCO GUITARS

Our flamenco guitars are supplied with "Savarez T50R Tomatito Flamenco" strings.

Their fast and precise responsiveness, the special sound and the way it develops make these strings our favourites for our flamenco guitars. Two of the treble strings (E1,B2) are nylon, the third G3 string is an ‘Alliance’ KF carbon and the basses possess a nylon multi-filament core that has been wound in silver plate.

TUNING MACHINES

Select tuning machines are responsible for precise tuning at an appropriate price-performance ratio in the respective instrument categories. The IGLIDUR plain bearings with bushed holes that are used on all our instruments are responsible for the low-friction movement of all the shafts.
